19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court since spring of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to create a final set.
He saved four early break points in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
